Media Center Policy & Procedure

• The Media Center is one in which all students and teachers have access in groups or as individuals to the facility, its resources, and the media staff at the time of need through use of a flexible schedule and collaboration between the classroom teacher and the media specialist. Individual exceptions require a note on file from the custodial parent or legal guardian. Students may visit the media center at any time during hours of operation (8:05 a.m. - 3:05 p.m.) with a signed agenda from a classroom teacher or administrator stating the purpose of their visit
• No food, drinks, or gum are allowed in the media center
• All materials checked out to a student become the sole responsibility of that student
• Students may check out two (2) books at a time for a period of 2 weeks, with 1 renewal
• Students may check out certain Reference books per request of teacher and with special permission of media specialist
• Students may not check out AV materials
• Students with overdue books or unpaid fines may not check out books
• Lost Book fines (cost of book) will be imposed for books not returned
• Damage fines will be imposed for damaged book
